Whats the point of backing up your Tweets. Do you think Twitter will crash some day?

    • Reply Ajinkya Sep 1,2010 1:25 am

All tweets stored on Twitter tweeted in about 10 days are available for search, and it’s hard to track the old tweets .
And most of the times , twitter fail whale shows up ! And if you are going to review your old tweets then there’s no point but to wait for twitter to come back to life 😛
In such case , when you have backup of all tweets , it becomes easy 😉

I’m glad that at least we can make use of this backup support to avoid losing even our contacts in Twitter. I also like the archiving of Tweets by means of ebook. At least you’ll be ab le to keep track of your discussion even offline.

I think that Twitter has become the phenomena that blogging and social networking were a few years ago. The internet keeps surprising you
with a new technology just as you think it has nothing new to offer.

Thanks for the info. I have over 25,000 tweets and twitter thinks they are theirs. Uh..no. I’d like to protect that and you’ve given me some good leads.

Have you ever tried to backup your Direct Messages? So far using the different mentioned options for backuping your twitter account never made a backup of my DM’s. And that’s what I want to achieve.

    • Reply Ajinkya Sep 9,2010 4:03 pm

Yup i had tried backing up direct messages via Tweetake .
Its just lists , i want to find out .

      • Reply Peter Sep 9,2010 9:35 pm

One way or another I didn’t try Tweetake. This works for all incoming DM’s. So that’s great. But it doesn’t give the DM’s you have send yourself.

        • Reply Ajinkya Sep 10,2010 4:07 am

Yesh , just the one’s we have received . Might be due to twitter api
I usually tweet and very rarely send direct messages in case of privacy otherwise its all public 😀
Wish twitter corporate this method too !

Do you know if there’s a software that’ll back-up all of your tweets and allow you to re-run all of them: schedule them to be tweeted again?

    • Reply Ajinkya Sep 10,2010 4:08 am

Yes , there are many of them . However all of them are commercial , they don’t even have trial version .
They claim to include every bit of hacks but i haven’t tried any of them , will check them out and publsih new post regarding this issue 😉
